PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic key capable of further downsizing and/or thinning.SOLUTION: An electronic key 20 includes: a key side communication unit 23 which can conduct a mutual wireless communication with a vehicle control device 11 controlling at least one of a locking/unlocking action for a door of a vehicle 10 and an initiation of a prime mover, which transmits authentication information to allow the at least one of a locking/unlocking action for a vehicle door to the vehicle control device 11 and the initiation of a prime mover, and which receives vehicle information from the vehicle control device 11; an electronic paper 25 for displaying the vehicle information, a control unit 21 for controlling the key side communication unit 23 and the electronic paper 25; and an electromagnetic induction coil 24 generating electric power by on-vehicle magnetic field generating devices 13 and 14 provided in the vehicle 10 and supplying the electric power to at least the control unit 21.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
