To automatically lock and unlock a door using a simple construction by providing an adapter for driving a thumb turn and a transmitting part for driving the adapter thereby to eliminate an installation work.
A wireless transmission signal is sent from an antenna 9 by unlocking or locking an operation mode of a transmitting part 2 to transfer the signal to a drive part 3 through a receiving part 4 of an adapter 1 attached to a door. Next, the part 3 rotates an engaging part to turn a thumb turn in engagement with the part 3 thereby to unlock or lock the door. And the door is unlocked and a knob is turned to open or close the door and by only operating a switch 8 of the part 2 in a simple manner, the door can be automatically locked or unlocked. As a result, an unlock signal, for unlocking the thumb turn only is transmitted from the part 2, whereby the door is prevented from being left unlocked, and even if one comes home, carrying a large number of baggages, by only pushing the switch 8, unlocking can be effected.
