To provide an electronic money transaction device in which an individual limit sum can be easily set in an electronic money card, operability at the time of an electronic money supplying operation can be improved, and the excessive payment of electronic money due to an input error can be prevented, and an electronic money card to be used for this device.
This device is provided with an electronic money card insertion port 122, means 117-118 for setting an individual limit sum (individual limit sum storing part 135) in an electronic money card 130 inserted into the insertion port 122, and supply instructing means 119 for instructing the supply of electronic money. The electronic money can be supplied from an account to the electronic money card 130 until the individual limit sum is obtained, or sum beyond the individual limit sum can be additionally supplied based on the supply instruction from the supply instructing means 119. Moreover, when the electronic money in the sum beyond the individual limit sum are stored (in a held balance storing part 136) in the electronic money card 130, the excessive sum is automatically deposed in the account.
