Abstract:

PURPOSE: To control a musical sound by the operation of the fingers and arm of one hand by providing a rotary encoder which detects the angle between button switches operated with the fingers and the elbow, and operating the electronic musical instrument with the hand and elbow on the same side and specifying a musical sound.
CONSTITUTION: Eight ranges (four octaves) are specified with eight button switches 2 (2a-2h) of a hand controller 1. A player grips the hand controller l and turns on-one of the button switches 2a-2h to specify one range. An elbow controller 3, on the other hand, detects the bending angle of the elbow of the player. One pitch in the range that the hand controller specified with detected angle data. The elbow controller 3 consists of a front arm mount part 4 and an elbow mount part 5, which is provided with the rotary encoder 6; and an expansible rod body 7 is fixed on its rotary shaft and the other end of the rod body 7 is fitted rotatably to the front arm mount part 4.
