Patent Searching and Data

Title:
ELECTRONIC ODOMETER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2848119
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a recording means wherein, in order to hold the correct numerical value of data in an upper-place memory in which an error becomes especially large, it is not required to take the trouble to hold the same data in a plurality of memories in an electronic odometer wherein an EEPROM whose number of rewrite operations is limited is used as a nonvolatile memory used to hold travel distance data for a vehicle.
CONSTITUTION: A memory area in a nonvolatile memory 3 is divided into groups A, B, C, D. In addition, each group is divided into an upper-place memory 31 and a lower-place memory 32. The lower-place memory 32 is used by the rotation of each group; the upper-place memory 31 holds data by the rotation of each group. As a result, the data in the upper-place data is held in each group with prescribed logicality; it is possible to easily detect erroneous data and to easily compute a correct data numerical value.
