PURPOSE: To provide an electronic odometer capable of detection and correction of incorrect bits because generation of errors of the memory bits can not be avoided by various factors though the erasable number of the EEPROM is improved due to the progress of the semiconductor technology and the employment of the troublesome erasable method is not required.
CONSTITUTION: An electronic odometer is provided with a distance sensor part 1, a memory part 3, a computation processing part 2 and a display part 4, and in partcular, the specified computation parameters are stored in addition to the integrated travel distance data in the memory part 3, the integrated travel distance data values are recorded as they are, and a detecting and correcting part 5 to execute the detection and correction of the errors of the memory data bits of the memory part is separately added with the specified timing.
