To provide a dielectric porcelain composition, which is used as a dielectric layer of a layered ceramic capacitor, comprising minute dielectric particles, having good electric characteristics and temperature characteristics even if a capacitor is thin-layered, low in poor insulation rate, excellent in high temperature load life, and high in reliability, and electronic parts such as a layered ceramic capacitor having such dielectric porcelain composition as its dielectric layer.
This dielectric porcelain composition contains barium titanate as the main component and magnesium oxide as a subsidiary component; the content of magnesium oxides, in terms of MgO, is not less than 3 moles but less than 7 moles based on 100 moles of the main component.
