Abstract:
PURPOSE: To improve the azimuth precision of an electronic scanning antenna in a wide wave angle and suppress its gain reduction.
CONSTITUTION: An electronic scanning antenna is provided with a transmitting/ receiving part 4, a plurality of column arrays 11-124 which are arranged in a cylindrical manner and achieve beam scanning on the basis of the power to be inputted, and a control means 5 to control the beam scanning. In addition, the electronic scanning antenna has a power distributing means 3 which includes a power distributor 26 to distribute the power outputted by the transmitting/ receiving part and phase shifters 251-258 to achieve phase adjustment of the power of the distributor on the basis of the control of control means, a switching means 2 to provide the output of the power distributing means by selecting the column arrays on the basis of the control of the control means, and a processing means 6 to extract the altitude information or the wave angle information of the target. The control means 5 controls the phase shifter so that the phase of the transmitting or the receiving radio waves may be set to the specified wave angle in the planes normal to each other according to the wave angle of the target.
