Abstract:

PURPOSE: To retrieve the telephone number of a party by communication functions without erroneously originating a call to a terminal, which is not provided with the prescribed communication function, and to additionally register the communication function of the opposite side terminal when it is newly discriminated.
CONSTITUTION: When an operator touches the FAX mode of a touch panel 21 on a communication function mode selection picture displayed on an LCD 20, this input information is sent to a CPU 1 by a touch panel controller 19. Corresponding to this information, the CPU 1 recognizes that the FAX function is selected, extracts a telephone number data base for facsimile from a RAM 4 and sends it through a graphic controller 17 and a video RAM 18 to an LCD controller 19, and this information is displayed on the LCD 20, and the electronic telephone directory for FAX is opened. The operator originates a call by selecting the telephone number of the desired call originating destination from the telephone directory which displays the telephone number of the party provided with the FAX function.
