To provide a theft prevention system based on a CAN bus using an identifier code for preventing illegal removal of vehicle components.
An electronic theft prevention system 50 is configured to use a CAN bus 30 for authenticating vehicle components, and provided with a central authentication module 10 for storing at least one first identifier, at least one electronic function module 20, and the CAN bus 30. Each of the electronic function modules 20 includes: a VESI(vehicle electric system identifier) device 22 for storing a second identifier code. The VESI device 22 compares the second identifier code with the relevant first identifier code, and when the identifier codes are coincident as a result of comparison, the VESI device 22 issues an ACK. In receiving the ACK from the VESI device 22 for the electronic function module 20, the central authentication module 10 activates the electronic function module 20 for a normal operation.
