To make a user of form a topographical map who has no expert surveying skill drawable the map, and to allow the user to quickly utilize required data in the electronic data form.
This invention is formed of a field surveying system and an electronic three dimensional contour line forming system. The field surveying system measures a distance, a direction and an angle of elevation with respect to a graphic object as an object of a non-prism macrometer, and transforms a result of the measurement to the three dimensional crossing coordinates having (x), (y), (z) coordinate axis, and stores them as the field surveying electronic data in a data recorded (a compact computer). The basic data for forming a topographic map are thereby obtained. The electronic three dimensional contour line forming system is formed of a personal computer and a CAD software, and converts the field surveying electronic data to the CAD data, forms a contour line with the height attribute, forms a wire frame bird's eye view for drawing, and a photographic image of the field is attached for drawing.
