To make responsiveness compatible with stability when a target throttle opening is changed astride an opener opening, in an electronic throttle system.
In the electronic throttle system, when a target throttle opening is changed astride an opener opening, a timing when a throttle valve passes an opener opening is predicted. Prospect astride control so that the throttle valve passes the opener opening in a manner to match with the timing is executed. In this case, the starting timing of estimate astride control is set according to a deviation between a target throttle opening and an opener opening. Further, when an estimate astride control amount is computed, the estimate astride control amount is determined by adding a control amount (a control amount equivalent to set torque of an opener mechanism) to overcome the spring force of an opener mechanism to regulate a throttle opening during abnormality of a system and a correction amount responding to a deviation between a target throttle opening and an opener opening.
