PURPOSE: To enable the measurement of clock rate for any kind of clock rate measuring apparatus by selecting the alarm OFF mode or the chime mode.

CONSTITUTION: With a rotary operation of a crown, the alarm mode is selected and an alarm function display pattern AL is indicated by lighting. At this point, when the alarm is set not to work, namely the signal ALON is at the level L, only the mark signal MB2 from a mark control circuit 10 is at the level H while other mark signals are 11 at the level L, and hence circumferential display patterns a1Wa20 are all OFF in the indication. On the other hand, 20 display patterns b60, b3, b6...b57 alone light and a display for OFF state of the alarm is done. At the same time, an electric field signal of 2nHz (128Hz) is released on the surface of a liquid crystal cell thereby enabling the measurement of clock rate with a clock rate measuring apparatus with 1, 2 and 10sec gates.
