To implement a highly accurate electronic timepiece by correcting both rate changes to temperatures and rate changes to humidity variations due to weather transitions and the ambient environment of the timepiece.

The electronic timepiece comprises an oscillating circuit 1 for outputting an oscillation signal P1; a frequency dividing circuit 2 for dividing the frequency of the oscillation signal P1 and outputting a clock signal P2; a humidity measuring circuit 9 for outputting humidity data P7; a temperature measuring circuit 6 for outputting temperature data P9; and a rate adjusting part 7 for adjusting the rate of the clock signal P2. The electronic timepiece is provided with a rate correction control part 5 for inputting the humidity data P7 and the temperature data P9 and outputting a rate correction signal according to humidity and temperature. The rate adjusting part 7 inputs the rate correction signal from the rate correction control part 5 to perform rate adjustment.
