The electronic timepiece comprises an oscillating circuit 1 for outputting an oscillation signal P1; a frequency dividing circuit 2 for dividing the frequency of the oscillation signal P1 and outputting a clock signal P2; a humidity measuring circuit 9 for outputting humidity data P7; a temperature measuring circuit 6 for outputting temperature data P9; and a rate adjusting part 7 for adjusting the rate of the clock signal P2. The electronic timepiece is provided with a rate correction control part 5 for inputting the humidity data P7 and the temperature data P9 and outputting a rate correction signal according to humidity and temperature. The rate adjusting part 7 inputs the rate correction signal from the rate correction control part 5 to perform rate adjustment.
