Abstract:

To provide an electronic watermark embedding device and an electronic watermark extraction device that are provided with a means for directly embedding electronic watermark to a transport stream(TS) without decoding the TS.

An electronic watermark embedding circuit 7 is placed between a descrambler 5 and an MPEG 2 decoder 6 of a receiver side installation consisting of a receiver 4, the descrambler 5 and the MPEG 2 decoder 6 to embed ID information of the receiver or the like to received data at a predetermined circuit position to prevent illegal copy and to protect data without decoding a TS to the coefficients the discrete cosine transform coefficients.
