To provide an electronic watt-hour meter allowing a user to easily confirm the excess situation of a targeted amount of power usage, allowing the user to concretely recognize excessive use of electricity for improving power-saving consciousness, and preserving data for a long time.
The electronic watt-hour meter measures the amount of power usage by a current transformer 6 provided in a power line 5, gives an alarm by a lamp, a buzzer, or the like when the measured amount of power usage exceeds an optionally set target value, records the number of times when the target value has been exceeded in a memory for each time in month units, and displays the excess situation for browsing on a liquid crystal section 1b. The number of excess times stored in a memory is counted by one regardless of how many times the excess occurs within one hour, the required memory capacity is 1 byte per hour for one month, and therefore, data for one year require a memory capacity of 1 byte24 hours12 months (=288 bytes) for storage.
