PURPOSE: To generate always a clock for handling of a needle and to improve impulsive precision of a super thin watch, by switching a signal to an auxiliary oscillating ciruit in the absence of the electrical oscillating signal when oscillation of a crystal resonator is stopped owing to an impulse.
CONSTITUTION: A crystal resonator oscillates by a main time reference oscillator and its oscillating signal is divided by a frequency divider. An output signal S1 from the divider confirms whether the crystal resonator oscillates regularly or not by an oscillation detector 7. In the absence of movement of the reference oscillator, the auxiliary time reference oscillator 8 moves. A time reference signal S1 of the divider and a time reference signal of the auxiliary oscillator are inputted into a gate circuit 9 and are switched by a output signal from the detector 7 to obtain a signal S5 of 1Hz.
