As for this electronic writing system for measuring a position on a writing face WS of the stylus point P0 of the writing means, at least two points P1 and P2 to be measured are set so that the stylus point P0 and these parts P1 and P2 can be arranged on an almost straight line in the writing means. A measuring means measures the positions of these parts P1 and P2, and a calculating means calculates the position of the point P0 on the writing face WS based on the positions of the points P1 and P2 measured by the measuring means and a distance relation between the points P0 and the parts P1 and P2.
