Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophoresis apparatus which measures a sample separated by means of a molecular weight simply with high sensitivity through fluorimetry or absorptiometry and provide an apparatus which can measure a DNA base sequence with high throughput.
SOLUTION: Capillaries 1a-1t and capillaries 2a-2t filled with a gel are fixed in a fluorescent cell 4 coaxially via gap parts 3a-3t of a predetermined length. A sheath liquid is injected by a head to the fluorescent cell 4. A sample migrating in the gap parts 3a-3t is accordingly floating in the sheath liquid. A fluorimetry or absorptiomery is carried out at the capillaries, at parts without the gel and at gap parts 3a-3t. Four bases of a plurality of samples can be identified simultaneously with the use of the multi capillaries and an image- splitting prism. An electrophoresis apparatus which can let a plurality of samples migrate thereby carrying out measurements at the same time and a DNA base sequence-measuring apparatus can be realized in this manner.
