Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a DNA sequencer having an ultrahigh throughput.
CONSTITUTION: Gel electrophoretic paths are provided separately and the DNA pieces slipping out of the gel are irradiated collectively with laser light 4. Fluorescent light from the DNA piece in each electrophoretic path is coupled with a line sensor or an area sensor 13 through an optical fiber 11. This constitution realizes a system wherein the number of electrophoretic paths is not limited.
