PURPOSE: To form an image having a wide image latitude even by a back light exposure system by using a photoconductive member obtd. by laminating a light receiving film composed of a layer hindering the injection of electric charges, a photoconductive layer and a surface layer contg. a specified atomic% of H atoms on a substrate.

CONSTITUTION: A photoconductive member obtd. by laminating a light receiving film 100 on a substrate 101 is used. The film 100 is composed of a layer 102 hindering the injection of electric charges, based on Si atoms and contg. a conductivity controlling substance, a photoconductive layer 103 made of an amorphous material based on Si atoms and contg. atoms of at least one of H and halogen and a surface layer 104 made of an amorphous material contg. 41-70atomic% H atoms as well as Si and C atoms as constituents. An image is formed with high reproducibility even by a back exposure system.
