To provide a developer having sufficient flowability and satisfactory electrostatic charge kick-off characteristics by incorporating a combination of silica surface-treated with silicone oil with titanium dioxide surface-treated with a fluorine-contg. silane coupling agent as an additive into a wax-contg. color toner.
The developer consists of a color toner consisting essentially of a bonding resin, a colorant, wax, an electrostatic charge controlling agent and an additive and a carrier. The additive is a combination of silica surface- treated with silicone oil with titanium dioxide surface-treated with a fluorine- contg. silane coupling agent. The quantity of electric charges of the carrier and the matrix toner not contg. the additive at the time of stirring is -15 to +5 μc/g and that of the carrier and the toner contg. the additive is -20 to -35 μc/g. The carrier is obtd. by coating the surfaces of spherical magnetic particles with silicone resin contg. a dispersed aminosilane coupling agent.
