PURPOSE: To prevent transfer defect and the disturbance of unfixed image by forming the post-transfer paper guide of a transfer charger of an intermediate resistance member.

CONSTITUTION: The post-transfer paper guide 32 is constituted of the intermediate resistance member such as resin possessing a specific surface resistance value 107-1013Ωcm. A toner image is formed on the surface of a photosensitive body 18 and transferred onto paper 13 by the transfer charger 22 and the paper 13 is separated from the photosensitive body, afterward, the paper 13 is carried to a fixing device by the guide 32. At this time, since the guide 32 is the intermediate resistance member, a potential difference between the guide 32 and the paper 13 is small, electric discharge to the charger 22 from the paper 13 is prevented and charges on the paper 13 are prevented from moving. Thus, transfer defect caused by destaticization is eliminated and the disturbance of the unfixed toner image can be prevented.
