Title:
ELECTROPHOTOGRAPHIC DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH05204228
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide an electrophotographic device capable of applying charges to a photosensitive body so that the potential distribution is highly accurately even and, in addition, carrying out such charge-application by means of the simple constitution and with high reliability which is not influenced by the environment of the use.

CONSTITUTION: Prior to the formation of an electrostatic latent image, at the time of applying a predetermined reference potential V0 to a photosensitive drum 2 on which the electrostatic latent image is formed by being irradiated with light, a fist potential V1 higher than the predetermined reference potential V0 for the photosensitive drum 2 is applied to the drum 2 by means of a first electrifier 4. Then, the photosensitive drum 2 to which the first potential V1 is applied is destaticized by a second electrifier 6, grounded via a varistor 5, so that the surface potential of the photosensitive drum 2 reaches the reference potential V0.
