Abstract:

To provide an electrophotographic printer in which the average mass velocity of a developer is approximately equal to the velocity of an imaging member.

In a method and a device for development of an electrophotographic image, an image developing process is optimized, by setting the mass flow velocity of a developer 16 with respect to the velocity of an imaging member 12; and for example, the mass velocity of the developer 16 is preferably equal approximately to the velocity of the imaging member 12 or is within a preferable range of about 40% to about 130% of the velocity of the imaging member 12.
