Abstract:

PURPOSE: To improve durability of an electrophotographic sensitive body having a surface protective layer containing fluorine-contg. resin fine particles by developing an electrostatic latent image formed on the photosensitive body with a toner containing a polishing material.
CONSTITUTION: This electrophotographic sensitive body consists of a photosensitive layer containing an org. photoconductive material and a surface protective layer on a conductive supporting body. The surface protective layer contains fluorine-contg. resin fine particles. An electrostatic latent image formed on the photosensitive body is developed with a toner containing a polishing material. It is preferable that the fluorine-contg. org. resin fine particles are incorporated by 5-70wt.% of the surface protective layer. The polishing material to be incorporated into the toner to polish the surface of the photosensitive body is an inorg. material such as silicon carbide, and its amt. is preferably 0.05-3.0wt.%. Further, it is preferable to press and remove the toner remaining on the photosensitive body by a cleaning means coated with fluorine-contg. resin fine particles and/or siloxane gel fine particles.
