To enhance wear and scuffing resistances and to prevent image blurring at high temperature and high humidity by incorporating a siloxane resin having structural units with electric charge transferring ability and also having a crosslinked structure and an antioxidant into a resin layer.
The electrophotographic photoreceptor has a resin layer containing a siloxane resin having structural units with electric charge transferring ability and also having a crosslinked structure and an antioxidant and has an electrically conductive layer between an electrically conductive substrate and a photosensitive layer. Since the antioxidant is contained in the resin layer, fog and image blurring at high temperature and high humidity are prevented. A bindered phenol or hindered amine type antioxidant produces a significant effect. The antioxidant content in the resin layer is preferably 0.01-10 wt.%. The siloxane resin is obtained by allowing an organosilicon compound having a hydroxyl group or a hydrolyzable group to react with an electric charge transferring compound having a hydroxyl group.
