Abstract:

To provide an electrophotographic photoreceptor having all of superior mechanical durability of a photoreceptor surface, charge transport property, and stability, in particular to provide a long-life electrophotographic photoreceptor capable of stably outputting a high quality image even under high-humidity and high density oxidized gas exposure conditions, and also provide an image forming method using the electrophotographic photoreceptor, an image forming apparatus, and a process cartridge.

An electrophotographic photoreceptor includes a photosensitive layer on a conductive support. The outermost surface layer of the photosensitive layer contains a three-dimensional cross-linked product obtained through polymerization of a charge-transporting compound (B) having three or more [(tetrahydro-2H-pyran-2-yl) oxy]methyl groups coupled to an aromatic ring and a charge-transporting compound (A) represented by the following formula (1) by reaction in which a part of the [(tetrahydro-2H-pyran-2-yl)oxy]methyl group is cleaved and eliminated.
