To provide an electrophotographic photoreceptor which is superior in sensitivity characteristics and durability, and a method for manufacturing the same, and an image forming apparatus with such an electrophotographic photoreceptor.

The electrophotographic photoreceptor has a photoreceptor layer, containing a binder resin, a hole transport agent, an electron transport agent and a charge-generating agent, wherein a perylenequinone derivative, having a carboxylic ester group, is used as the electron transport agent contained in the photoreceptor layer. The method for manufacturing the same and the image forming apparatus having such an electrophotographic photoreceptor are also provided.
