Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve such a problem that in an electrophotographic photoreceptor having a photoconductive layer made of hydrogenated amorphous silicon and a surface layer made of hydrogenated amorphous silicon carbide or hydrogenated amorphous carbon layered in this order, it is difficult to achieve suppressing oxidation in the surface layer and an underlayer of the surface layer as well as suppressing reduction of a potential when a developer having a relatively low resistance is used.SOLUTION: A surface layer of an electrophotographic photoreceptor is configured to have: a ratio C/(Si+C), which is a ratio of the number (C) of carbon atoms to the sum of the number (Si) of silicon atoms on the surface layer and the number (C) of carbon atoms, is 0.80 or more; a ratio H/(Si+C+H), which is a ratio of the number (H) of hydrogen atoms to the sum of the number (H) of hydrogen atoms, the number (Si) of silicon atoms and the number (C) of carbon atoms, is 0.30 or more and 0.40 or less; a ratio sp/(sp+sp), which is a ratio of the number (sp) of spbonds of carbon elements to the sum of the number (sp) of spbonds of carbon elements and the number (sp) of spbonds of carbon elements, is 0.30 or more; and an ionization potential of 5.50 eV or higher.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
