PURPOSE: To increase the traveling speed of read original, to restrain the device from getting large and to easily exchange consumables.

CONSTITUTION: A bypass traveling path 26 is provided on an opposite side to a photoreceptive drum 8 with respect to a paper traveling path 5 through which printing paper 2 travels passing an image forming part 6 and a fixing part 7. The traveling path 26 is connected to the paper traveling path 5 at 1st and 2nd connection parts 31 and 32, and the center part of the path 26 is made nearly parallel with the paper traveling path 5. Carrying rollers 27a, 27b, 28a and 28b are provided in the path 26 and independently driven. After the read original is read by a reading part 21, it is allowed to travel in the path 26.
