PURPOSE: To offer a high speed and low running cost multicolor/full color electrophotographic recorder at a low cost by juxtaposing an image forming means except an electrophotographic process.

CONSTITUTION: An image forming unit 13 is disposed on the back of a fixing device by the electrophotographic process. In the image forming unit 13, any of a dot matrix system, an ink jetting system, and a thermal system is used. The image forming unit 13 is disposed on a base 15, and the base 15 is supported by a shaft 14, and slid along the shaft 14. For instance, black color is formed by the electrophotographic process, and magenta is formed by the image forming unit 13. Consequently, an image having the mixture of the black and magenta can be obtained without reducing the printing speed of the electrophotographic process.
