PURPOSE: To record with high definition and high gradation reproducibility by making the width of a laser beam in a main scanning direction of a semiconductor laser beam scanning on a photosensitive body surface smaller than the width of the laser beam in a subscanning direction and making the wave length of the semiconductor laser beam less than 600nm.
CONSTITUTION: The width of the laser beam in the main scanning direction is made smaller than that of the laser beam in the subscanning direction with respect to the shape of the semiconductor laser beam LB scanning on the surface of the photosensitive body 5 and the wave length of the semiconductor laser beam LB is made less than 600nm. When light source wave length is 400W500nm, Sc and Se based alloy or yellow organic pigment resin dispersion material is appropriate and when the wave length is 500W600nm, a-Si or Magenta organic pigment resin dispersing material is appropriate as the photosensitive body to be used in terms of sensitivity and printing resistant ability. Thus, recording with high definition and high gradation reproducibility can be performed.
