PURPOSE: To enhance sensitivity and to suppress variances of potentials in the light and in the dark at the time of repeated cycles of electric charging and exposure by incorporating a specified compound in a photosensitive layer.
CONSTITUTION: An electrophotographic sensitive body has on a conductive substrate the photosensitive layer containing one of the compounds represented by formula I in which each of R1 and R2 is optionally substituted alkyl or such aryl, and both may form a ring together with the combining N; X is a divalent organic group not forming a conjugated system with A; A is a univalent organic group selected from formulae II, III, and the like; each of R3-R6, R8, and R9 is alkyl, aralkyl, aryl, or a heterocyclic group; and R7 is H, optionally substituted alkyl, aralkyl or aryl thus permitting high sensitivity to be obtained, variances of the potentials in the light and in the dark at the time of repeated uses to be reduced, and durability to be enhanced.
