To provide toner which can faithfully reproduce a latent image and can realize the full-color image of high sharpness and a manufacturing method.
The method for manufacturing the toner includes an emulsification process of dissolving or dispersing a toner composition containing at least two or more kinds of different resins, a coloring agent and a release agent into an organic solvent and continuously emulsifying the solution or dispersion thereof into an aqueous medium in which a solid particulate dispersant exists and a process of obtaining the toner by removing the solvent from the obtained emulsification dispersion. The toner is obtained by emulsifying the toner under the pressure regulated to 0.005 to 0.7 Mpa in the emulsification process. The volume mean particles diameter (Dv) of the toner is 3 to 10 μm and the value Dv/Dp obtained by dividing the volume mean particles diameter by the number mean particles diameter (Dp) of number base determined from the number distribution is preferably 1.05 to 1.25.
