Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a transfer paper hardly causing curling by heat in a fixing process in a high-speed copying machine or a large capacity laser beam printer, and excellent in travelling property and workability without causing any trouble by producing the transfer paper in such a manner that when the paper is divided into a surface layer and a back layer, the difference in the proportion of short fibers between the two layers is a specified value or below.
SOLUTION: When the paper is equally or almost equally divided into a surface layer and a back layer, the difference in the proportion of short fibers having ≤0.2mm between the two layers is controlled to ≤3%. To control the difference of the proportion of short fibers having ≤0.2mm in the surface and back layers, controlling of dehydration on wires or controlling of dewatering in a press part is effective for any paper making machines, and it is preferable to use a twin-wire paper machine in which a source material slurry is dehydrated through the upper and lower surfaces. By controlling the dehydrating ratio of the upper part to the lower part in the twin-wire paper making machine, the difference in the proportion of short fibers between the surface and back surfaces can be controlled. The hydrating amt. through the upper part is preferably 10 to 30% of the whole dehydrating water amt.
