PURPOSE: To provide an electrostatic air cleaner capable of to exhibiting high dust eliminating performance, even though voltage impressed between a dust collection electrode and an ionized electrode is low.

CONSTITUTION: In the electrostatic air cleaner having a constitution in which the dust collection electrode 11 and dust collection paper 13 are attached to the peripheral surface of a cylinder case 10 and the ionized electrode 12 is arranged at its outside, a deodorizing part having an ultraviolet ray lump 15, an optical catalyst 17 and an ozone catalyst 19 is provided in the inside of the cylinder case 10 and the ionized electrode 12 is arranged at a nearly central position in the vertical direction of the dust collection electrode 11 and also its discharge electrodes 12a, 12b are provided above and below the ionized electrode.
