PURPOSE: To reduce the quantity of a toner attached on the inner wall of a cleaning device, by setting rotational speed at the tip part of the conductive fiber of a conductive brush at 40W200mm/s.
CONSTITUTION: On the conductive brush 17, a bias voltage having a polarity opposite to that of the toner is impressed by a DC bias power source 18, and a remaining toner is removed from the surface of a photosensitive body 1 by the conductive brush 17 which rotates slidably with the surface of the photosensitive body 1. In such a case, the speed of the conductive brush 17 is set at 40W200mm/s. In such a manner, the attachment of the toner on the inner wall of the cleaning device 14, or the quantity of the toner accumulated in the brush 17, can be reduced.
