PURPOSE: To provide a polymerization color developer having good spectral reflectance, color mixability and transparency and excellent light fastness by suspension-polymerizing a specified monomer in an aq. medium.
CONSTITUTION: A monomer contg. at least colorant, mold release agent and UV absorbent is suspension-polymerized in an aq. medium to obtain the developer, and 10-100 pts.wt. of the mold release agent is preferably incorporated into 100 pts.wt. of the monomer. Consequently, the mold release agent and UV absorbent are oozed out on the surface of a picture in fixing to form a coating film, and hence the deterioration of the dye and/or pigment due to light is effectively prevented. A lubricant, a colorant and a UV absorbent are mixed in the first stage, and the obtained mixture, resin and UV absorbent are mixed in the second stage. In this case, the lubricant and dye and/or pigment are preferably dispersed uniformly in the resin adjacent to one another.
