To provide an electrostatic ink-jet ink composition capable of setting high-quality printed images at low temperatures and in high speed on a printing media, and to provide an ink-jet printing method using the ink composition.
The electrostatic ink-jet ink composition comprises a dispersion medium, charged particles essentially containing a coloring material, and an electric charge adjuster, wherein the electric charge adjuster consists of an electric charge generator composition obtained by mixing an electric charge generator, a solvent and a polar monomer species together followed by conducting a polymerization reaction. The ink-jet printing method comprises jetting the ink composition as ink droplets by an ink-jet printing system utilizing the electrostatic field.
