PURPOSE: To provide an electrostatic latent image developing toner containing a wax uniformly dispersed in a binder resin.
CONSTITUTION: In the production method of an electrostatic latent image developing toner containing at least a binder resin and a wax, a kneader-extruder described below is used. This kneader-extruder has a charging port 3 for the source material, a discharging point 6 for the kneaded material, and is equipped with a carrying zone comprising screws 4 in the axial direction in a cylinder 1 and a kneading zone comprising kneading disks 5. The machine has at least one kneading zone. The electrostatic latent image developing toner is produced in a kneading process while temperatures in this machine are controlled to satisfy a specified relation of the temp. at which the binder resin has 103 poise viscosity and 104 poise viscosity, the softening point of the wax, the set temp. of the cylinder in the kneading zone 5, the set temp. of the cylinder in the carrying zone 4, the temp. of the extruded material, and the temp. at which the binder resin has ≤5×105 poise viscosity.
