PURPOSE: To prevent the rearward scattering of paint and to enhance adhesion efficiency to an article to be painted, by arranging an air emitting orfice behind the paint ejecting part of a paintting machine main body to form an air curtain.

CONSTITUTION: In a high speed rotary atomizing type painting machine, shaving air jet orifices 6 for blowing off atomized paint toward a front article to be painted are provided to the front surface of an air chamber 7 and air emitting orifices 8 for forming an air curtain to the circumference are provided to the air chamber 7 over the entire periphery thereof so as to be positioned behind said jet orifices 6. By forming said air emitting orifices 8 so that compressed air can be injected to the direction almost vertical to the center axis of the painting machine main body 1 or to the direction inclined slightly forward or rearward with respect to the vertical direction, the adhesion of paint to a worker, the deterioration of an environment and the contamination of machinery, etc., can be surely prevented and the adhesion efficiency of the paint of an article to be painted can be enhanced.
