To provide an electrostatic printing master plate which is capable of forming a high resolution image and shows high resistance to plate wear.
This electrostatic printing master plate 3 has at least, a heat- resistant primer layer 4 formed on the conductive layer 3 of a conductive base having the conductive layer 3 in a surface layer part and a light-absorbing insulative pattern layer 5 formed on the heat-resistant primer layer 4. Further the plate 3 is constructed so that the light-absorbing insulative pattern layer 5 is formed by emitting a light to a light-absorbing insulative layer formed on the heat-resistant primer layer 4 to remove a light-emitted region. The heat- resistant primer layer 4 is composed of either of a resin, an inorganic material and an organic and inorganic composite material. When the layer 4 is composed of the resin or the organic and inorganic composite material, a temperature at which a thermogravimetric decrease is initiated is set within the range of 300-700°C.
