PURPOSE: To intensify the electric field of the end face of multistylus electrodes, to increase initial release of electrons, and to form a stable and sharp latent image with low voltage, by raising density of protuberances present on a dielectric film, and bringing at least one protuberance into contact with one end face of one stylus electrode.
CONSTITUTION: An electrostatic recording material 15 consists of the dielectric film 14, a conductive layer 16, and a paper sheet 17, the film 14 is provided with a large number of protuberances, and in this figure, at least one protuberance, for example 14a, 14b, 14c, and 14d contact with the end face of each stylus electrode 10W14. As the support of the recording material, an aluminum drum 21 is used. Its surface is coated with an acrylic resin to form a base layer 22. It is coated with a carbon-mixed resin to form a conductive layer 23 having 107Ω/ "ro"(Japanese:katakana,256D)surface resistivity. This layer 23 is coated with a thermosetting resin mixed with alumina powder having 8μm particle diameter to form a dielectric layer 24 having a number of protuberances. A high quality print free from void and spots is obtained by using the recording material thus formed and printing letters on the material.
