To provide an electrostatic separation apparatus capable of efficiently separating object matter into conductive substances and insulating substances even in the case that sheet-like substances are contained in the object matter.
While having the same basic function as that of a conventional apparatus for separating object matter to be separated into conductive substances and insulating substances by using electrostatic force and corona electric discharge in combination, this electrostatic separation apparatus comprises an earthing electrode unit 1 constituted of two rotation rotors 2 and a conveyer belt 3 turned around the rotors, an opposite electrode unit 4 constituted of a first electrostatic electrode 5, a corona electrode 6, and a second electrostatic electrode 7 arranged in this order from the supply side of the object matter to be separated, and a removal unit 8 for parting and removing insulating substances attracted to the earthing electrode unit 1. The diameter of one rotation rotor 2 to which the object matter is supplied by a hopper 11 is made smaller than that of the other rotation rotor and the conveyer belt 3 is made to be like a mesh and conductive and the removal unit 8 is installed in the inside of the conveyer belt 3.
