To recover pulverized plastic by efficiently separating and removing nonmagnetic metals from the pulverized matter of a nonmagnetic metal-containing plastic at a low cost.
An electrostatic separator comprises: a static electricity generating section for generating static electricity; an electrostatic separation section 3 which is constituted of an electrically conductive connector 31 that is connected to an electric conductor of the static electricity generating section, charged bodies 35, 36 that are charged with the static electricity by being connected to the electrically conductive connector 31 and have tilting upper faces and grounded bodies 37 that are laterally provided so as to be opposite apart from an lower side of the tilting face and that are insulated from the charged bodies 35, 36 and a feed section 4 for feeding the pulverized plastic 11 containing the nonmagnetic metal to the tilting face of the charged body 35 in the electrostatic separation section 3. The nonmagnetic metals are separated by utilizing electrostatic repulsion action, from the pulverized plastic 11 containing the nonmagnetic metal falling along the tilting face.
