Abstract:

To improve the precision of housing materials to be selected in prescribed containers irrespective of the electrification quantity of the materials.

An electrostatic separator has a drop chute 1 which is supplied with the materials electrified in advance and drops the materials, truncated chevron-shaped electrodes 52 which are installed below the chute 1, are composed of a pair of electrode parts 9 and 10 facing with the interval on the side of an outlet made larger than the interval on the side of an inlet, and bias the materials by applying an electrostatic field to the materials, parallel electrodes 51 which are installed below the chute 1, are composed of a pair of electrodes parts 7 and 8 facing in parallel, and bias the materials by applying an electrostatic field to the materials, and the first and second containers 12 which are installed below the chute 1 and house the materials biased by the electrodes 52 and the electrodes 51.
