Title:
ELECTROSTATIC STEPPER MOTOR AND MAGNETIC STORAGE USING THE SAME
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3354009
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To narrow the distance between adjacent positions where a traveling body temporarily stops by forming the electrode pattern of a fixed body with a plurality of electrode pattern parts and laying out each electrode pattern part while shifting the electrodes by a specific pitch.
CONSTITUTION: When a switch circuit 120 is switched and connected to a group of terminals 101-1-101-3, electrostatic repulsion force and electrostatic attraction force are applied among electrodes 70-1-70-6 thus enabling a specific point 122 to stop temporarily and rotating by an angle (p) at a time for stepping operation. The electrodes 70-1-70-6 are laid out at an angle pitch of (p) and while being shifted by, for example, p/3 for electrodes 68-1-68-6. Therefore, by properly switching a switch circuit 120, a position where a rotor 53 temporarily stops is determined with a thin resolution of p/3, thus determining the position where the traveling body temporarily stops to be thinner by several times as compared with a conventional method.
