PURPOSE: To obtain good-quality printing by using a system in which the time from the ending of an electrostatic latent image processing to the supply of next printing data from outside is measured, and when the time reaches a given one, a certain-time feeding of paper is performed.

CONSTITUTION: When printing data are transmitted from a host computer 8 to a printer controller 2, paper feeding is started by a paper feeding mechanism 7 in the controller 2 and at the same time a recording head 3 is operated for an electrostatic latent image processing. After the latent image processing, the paper feeding is stopped by the mechanism 7. From the time, counting is started by a timer counting circuit 11, and when a given value is reached a signal is sent out from the circuit 11 to a paper feeding signal generator 13 during the time period when paper feeding signal is set up. When a paper feed signal is supplied, the paper feed mechanism 7 performs paper feeding to a place where an electrostatic latent image being formed on the electrostatic recording paper 6 is completely developed by a toner applicator 5.
