Title:
ELECTROSTATICALLY-CHARGEABLE COLORED RESIN FINE PARTICLE, APPLICATION THEREOF, AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING THE SAME
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2003277414
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide electrostatically-chargeable colored resin fine particles excellent in electrostatically-chargeable properties and electrophoretic properties, and therefore used for a PLD and an electrophotographic image-forming device, such as the electrostatically-chargeable colored particles for an electrostatic toner and the electrostatically-chargeable colored resin fine particles which electrically migrate in an electrical insulating fluid and colored by dyestuffs and pigments, and method for producing the same.

The electrostatically-chargeable colored resin fine particles comprise polymer particles formed by copolymerizing at least (A) an (meth)acrylic monomer which dissolves and/or disperses an oil-soluble dyestuff and/or pigment and (B) a polymerizable monomer which has at least one of functional group and/or substituted group in its molecule, wherein the resin particles have such a charged electrostatic amount (Ch) as satisfying the following inequality: 20≤Ch≤450, [Ch is an absolute value of the charged electrostatic amount (μC/g) on surfaces of the particles measured by a blow-off method]. The colored resin fine particles are excellent in the electrostatically-chargeable properties in a electrical field system or excellent in the electrophoretic properties because of being charged in a display cell of opposed- electrode type.
